26 Unit 3: Think About It

Think About It:

Look back over how this unit defines and discusses  rhetoric:

  • What is your major and/or what field do you want to work in? What does effective rhetoric look like in that field?
  • What will your audience be in your future field or studies, and how will that impact your writing?
  • What kinds of genres exist in your future field or studies, and how can you prepare?
  • What should audience members know about you or your experience, in order to trust what you have to tell them? How will you convey that in your future writing?
  • How can you tell if your written rhetoric is effective (give examples)?
  • We are inundated by rhetoric via social media, daily interactions, texting, advertising, news, online information, and more. How can you tell if the rhetoric you are consuming is biased or effective (give examples)?
